WORKSHOP on FILM SCRIPT WRITING
NOVEMBER 2005

The Enormous Potential

India boasts of being one of the largest film industries in the world, and is now getting international attention. Contemporary films have moved away from just being commercial formulas to more meaningful expressions of new generation directors. Opportunities abound for aspiring new talent who wish to make a foray into the industry as script writers, because a good script ensures a good film. And the industry needs not only mere scriptwriters but also imaginative minds to create stories beyond the norms of a formula.

Script writing is both an art and a science, it stems from originality and is given shape with certain basics to be followed. Success is almost assured for those who have a talent, passion, dedication and most significantly the right kind of training.

IFA is endeavoring to provide the right kind of training to the right people, and its pioneering attempt is to launch a systematic knowledge series on film script writing through a Workshop, which is carefully planned to introduce aspiring script writers to all aspects of scriptwriting.

The Workshop

To be held in November, 2005, this 8 day workshop will be conducted on 4 weekends (Saturdays and Sundays), from 11.00am to 6.00pm.

4 films will be screened during the course, and thrown open for discussion from the scriptwriter's point of view. Along with this a few more short films and clippings from various films will also be screened under the topics of syllabus.
